The cut of a diamond is very important, as its radiance is directly related to how perfect the cut is. Again, carat of diamond does not imply it’s the best, as its shine is dependent on cut and proportion.  Diamonds are generally graded on a color scale of D to Z.  It is believed that less tint in a diamond, superior it is in quality.  Diamonds that are graded D, E and F are considered to be colorless. However, it is suggested that if you purchase diamond engagement ring, you can take anywhere from D through G.  Additionally, being very expensive, ensure that your diamond engagement ring is accompanied by authentic certificate from jewelry houses where quality is hallmark.

It is apparent that couples often get nervous when they are about to get engaged or married.  For most of the people, the confusing thing is buying an engagement ring. As engagement rings are the symbolic representation of eternal love exchanged between couples to represent their union, this piece of jewelry should be selected meticulously.

If you looking for a pre-designed engagement ring, then a good way to get an idea of your choices are by browsing online for different designers of bridal jewelry.  By and large, an engagement ring which is favored by everybody is diamond a engagement ring.  There are numerous considerations to be made when selecting a diamond engagement ring.

The quality of the diamond or diamonds in the engagement ring goes a long way to determine the price, as well as the sparkle the diamond engagement ring will elicit.  Selecting a diamond for the rings is an important step as it affects the overall cost of diamond engagement ring.
After selecting the diamond, you’ll need to make another decision about the setting for your diamond.  The various settings for diamonds include the prong, channel, bezel set, with many other applications for the accent jewels if you choose to go that route.  Otherwise, a classic solitaire diamond engagement ring on a plain band will also be a good choice.
The next step is choice of metal to feature the diamond  and setting you have chosen.  The most popular metal that many have are made from gold, in yellow or white depending on her preference.  The best metal to use if you have the means is platinum.  This metal is the strongest, whitest and most durable for diamond engagement rings that holds the stones the most securely.  Another option for metal is palladium, this is a metal very similar looking to platinum but is not as dense, but it tends to be the least expensive of the three metals.

Well, I hope that this has been informative and gives you a leg up on the hunt for a great enagagement ring she will fall head over heels for!!  Good luck!

As Shirley Bassey’s song goes “Diamonds are forever sparkling ’round my little finger” – diamonds are the hardest naturally occurring mineral and a diamond ring, and  is what every woman dreams of displaying on their finger.  It is also a material with unique physical qualities because they can hardly get damaged by another substance.  Therefore the lustre and its polish will stay forever.  Giving a diamond ring made out of this everlasting mineral is the most romantic way of expressing one’s love and devotion to a woman.

“Diamond” is a Greek word which means unbreakable and untamed. A diamond can only be cut by using another diamond. This precious gemstone, which originated from India about 4,000 year ago, can be cut into various shapes and depending on the expertise of the diamond cutter.  Possible shapes vary from heart’s, princess, oval, square and pear.  While colorless diamonds are more popular and expensive, shades of blue, green, yellow and pink are also available but very rare.  A ring adorned with a beautifully shaped diamond on your finger is definitely capable of adding a look of class and genteel to your personality.

Sometimes diamond rings are made with a meaning.  Solitaire rings contain one single diamond which may signify the one and only love he has for you; or a three-stone diamond rings symbolizes the past, present and future to show the couple’s long lasting love together.  It is not only worn for an engagement or the wedding day, it is also a perfect gift idea for a birthday or a wedding anniversary.

Choosing the right engagement ring

While shopping for diamond engagement or eternity rings, many buyers are surprised by the large number of diamond ring options available.  Whether you are purchasing a ring from a retailer or designing a ring to be crafted by a jeweler, a number of decisions must be made in selecting the perfect diamond ring.  Besides being familiar with the 4 Cs which affect the value and appearance of a diamond—cut, color, clarity and carat weight—the following considerations may also help you in your search for the perfect diamond ring:

-What diamond shape do I prefer?

Perhaps the first decision in selecting a diamond ring is which diamond shape you are seeking.  Diamond cutters craft diamonds in several shapes for diamond rings, some of which are round, princess, marquise, pear, and oval.  The shape of a diamond determines its outward appearance, and you will likely realize a natural preference for a particular shape as you shop.  Some rings have one central diamond, as in the traditional engagement ring, while others have several diamonds that may be the same or different shapes.

-What type of metal should I choose?

Yellow gold, white gold, platinum—there are a number of metals that are common for diamond rings.  Platinum is a popular option for engagement rings and eternity rings because of its resilience, though it comes with a higher price tag than other metals.  Silver, on the other hand, is prone to corrosion and thus is not the best choice for frequently worn rings such as wedding bands and eternity rings.  Discuss with your jeweler the metal that is right for you, taking into consideration its color, durability and resistance to corrosion.

-What setting style do I prefer?

Something you will quickly realize when shopping for diamond rings is that diamonds are affixed to rings in a variety of ways.  The way that a gem is set and held in place is referred to as its setting.  Several setting styles are common for diamond rings, some of which are the bezel setting, channel setting, and prong setting.  The shape and size of a diamond and the strength of the metal used may help determine the type of setting that is used in a particular ring.

Perhaps you already have in mind the type of diamond ring you are seeking, or maybe you prefer to explore all of the options until you simply discover the perfect ring.  With the multitude of diamond ring styles available, having an idea of the shape, type of metal and setting style you prefer can help you in your quest for the diamond ring that best suits your taste and personality.

Lucky Woman Gets Fabulous Engagement Ring!

Written by

I have to be the luckiest woman today!!  I am so anxious to share with the world how excited I am, because my boyfriend is now my fiancé!!

Last night after a pretty hectic day, I came home to a beautiful bouquet of flowers.  I thought to myself he knew just what I needed today.  Well I had no IDEA how much he was in tune with me.  I thanked him for the flowers and he said it was nothing and there was more in store for me.

What a lucky woman I am to have such a sweet and considerate boyfriend, I thought, but really didn’t know about his big plans.  He told me I didn’t have to worry about dinner because he’d already taken care of it.

Honestly I thought that was the highlight of the evening.  Until…..he asked me to be his wife and gave me a beautiful designer engagement ring!!!  Wow, I didn’t think he knew my taste that well!!  I was so floored at the lengths he went to find out what type of engagement ring I liked too.

I found out that he had been researching and probing my friends and family for insight on what he should get me for the momentous occasion.  Of all of the many styles and options out there he said that RITANI had an extensive variety of engagement rings and wedding bands, that he didn’t need to look any further once he found them.

I love my diamond engagement ring and I will be going back to our jeweler to choose RITANI wedding bands for the BIG DAY!!

Mens Wedding Rings: Simple or Flashy?

Written by

Traditionally, during wedding ceremonies men receive a plain gold band when exchanging rings.  Today, however, the tables have turned and men are sporting more stylish sometimes flashy rings instead.  Along with this trend we have been seeing a growing number of “reverse proposals” where the woman asks for the man’s hand in marriage and offers him a ring.  In either case, diamond wedding rings for men have been making their mark, as well as designer men’s bands featuring very modern shapes and materials.

The designer wedding jewelry market has definitely noticed the peaking interest, and has been expanding the selections for men to choose from.  One of the more practical trends has been using more rugged materials like platinum, tungsten carbide, palladium, and titanium to name a few.  As well as various thicknesses and colors.  My friend recently gave her new husband a black tungsten wedding band, and it is most fitting to his style.

Another trend has been “blinged-out” men’s wedding rings.  Nick Cannon, who has recently married Mariah Carey, has been seen wearing a very flashy diamond men’s band.  Some have even gone as far as calling it gaudy, but to each his own.  I am sure some of the most famous woman’s diamond engagement rings have been called that as well, but usually out of jealousy.

I think it is very modern for men to want to take pride in the ring they are going to be wearing ’til death.  As often as a girl wants to recieve the most unique and gorgeous engagement ring, a man should be able to have the same expectations.  So for all of you who just don’t want to wear a ring at all, that is a conversation you will have with your spouse (good luck!)
