However, if you have the money to spend, going to an antique dealer is also a good idea.  An antique jeweler will have a lot of knowledge on the many different types of rings and will give you good advice as to which ring best suits what you’re looking for.   Also, when you buy from a jeweler, you will know where to bring your ring if it needs to be repaired or resized.  An antique jeweler will also have a history report of the ring and you will be able to physically inspect it before buying it.

No matter what path you take, searching for unique engagement rings is a great way to go.  If you’re girlfriend is not absolutely obsessed with diamonds, she will absolutely love a unique engagement ring.  They have a lot of history and they separate from the pack very nicely.  Since engagement rings already symbolize so much, making it a unique ring will only bring that symbolism further.  Putting thought into the ring will show your future wife that you are thoughtful and caring on these matters and will be swept off of her feet.  No matter how you propose, I’m sure she will love a unique engagement ring.
